SCHENEVUS – Joaquina M. Alem, 65, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.
She was born February 25, 1945 in Portugal, the daughter of Antonio and Maria (Goncalves) Miranda.
She married Acacio J. Alem on May 7, 1978 in Portugal.
They moved to the United States in 1979.
Joaquina was a dedicated employee at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown in the Housekeeping Department.
There will be no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Friday, December 31, 2010 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 201 Main St., Worcester, with the Rev. Ronald Green, MM, as celebrant.
Interment at Westford Cemetery will be at a later date.
