EAST WORCESTER – John F. Bywater of East Worcester, ascended into Heaven on October 23, 2010.
Born in Astoria, Long Island to John W. and Theodora (Redstone) Bywater, John was predeceased by his brothers, Leslie and Ernest.
From 1942 to 1946 during World War II, John served in England and France with the United States Army.
Moving to Carlisle in 1948 he was in garage partnership with his brother, Ernest. He moved to East Worcester in 1976, and thereafter retired as Transportation Supervisor with Cobleskill Central School District.
John was a member of The Beard's Hollow Church Society, Worcester American Legion Post 1584, Cobleskill Masonic Lodge #394 F & A.M., and Oneonta Chapter # 277 Royal Arch Masons. John also enjoyed square dancing, as a charter member of the Worcester Wheelers.
John is mourned by his beloved wife, Arlene (McGrath); daughter, Judy Hauser of Cobleskill and son, Douglas of Schenectady.
The family was comforted by E.J. Skinner Funeral Chapel of Worcester, with memorial services by Rev. Paul Messner and Rev. Keith VanDewerker.
