Cooperstown - John M Kenney Jr, 84 "Jack" passed away May 3, 2023 surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness.

He was born June 13, 1938 in Brooklyn New York to the late John M Kenney Sr. and Margaret.

John is predeceased by his parents, the mother of his children, Michele H Kenney, his long-term companion Louann Wayman and son-in-law Andy Cordone.

He is survived by his children Shelley Putnam (Bob), Jack Kenney (Bridget), Colleen Cordone, Ed Kenney, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Jack moved from Brooklyn during his teenage years to Central Islip and later in life move to Cooperstown, New York. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army, where he served in Germany in between the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He spent many years working at the Cooperstown Veterans Club welcoming traveling Veterans as they came to the Baseball Hall of Fame during the summers. Jack was happiest when his children and grandchildren were around, just spending quality time with each other.

"Anyone that knew Jack would agree that he lived and died exactly how he wanted; with a cigar in his mouth, cocktail in his hand and his family surrounding him!"

The family will have a graveside service at a later date.
