Maryland, NY
John H. Odell, 75, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2011 at the Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
He was born on October 11, 1935 in Maryland; the son of Herman and Ruth E. (Ledwith) Odell.
John was a lifelong area resident who served in the United States Navy from 1954 to 1958.
He worked for Ken Ross Excavating and was a self-employed logger.
John is survived by his children, April (Denny) Chamberlain of Sharon Springs, John Odell Jr. of Summit, NY, Charles Odell of Portsmouth, VA and Patrick Odell of Portsmouth, VA; his grandson, Brian Tripp; his brother, Lewis Odell of Valparaiso, IN and his good friends Paul "Bunk" Smith, John Messina and Julian Hanson.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 15, 2011 at the Maryland Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
