John served in the Army as an RN during the Vietnam War from 1966-1968 and remained in the service until he resigned from the Army in 1976, having attained the rank of Major.
He and his family then moved to Pennsylvania so he could attend Baptist Bible College in Clark Summit. In 1982 the family moved to New Port Richey, Florida where John and Dee continued their nursing careers and their children grew and attended college. Kathryn now teaches in Seffner, Florida. Eric is the associate pastor of a church in Front Royal, Virginia. Robyn is a contract employee for the U.S. Postal Service.
