Oneonta – Joseph L. Ouimet, 58, passed away at home on September 25, 2022 with his dog and loyal companion, Bella at his side.
He was born November 19, 1963 in Oneonta, the son of Francis and Theresa (Lambert) Ouimet.

He married Robyn Nyback on September 12, 1987 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oneonta.
Joe was employed for 30 years at the Oneonta High School in the maintenance department where he retired in 2019. He continued his lifelong love of sports, enjoying OHS Friday Night Lights Football games, and was a fan of Notre Dame, the Raiders and the Red Socks. He also was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed gardening, but in his later years enjoyed "supervising" the placement of the garden to make sure the "job was done right."

He was also survived by his mother-in-law, Maryann Nyback, sisters and brothers-in-law, Valarie (Floyd) Manchester, and Christine (Matthew) Nichols.
He was predeceased by his parents; sisters, Mary Jump and Christine Miller; nephews, Matthew Ouimet, Tommy Place and Gordie Nichols.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Milford EMS and numerous New York State troopers that assisted in caring for Joe throughout the years.
