Joseph M. Riccardi, Sr. (a.k.a.) Galvin, 67, of Davenport Center, passed away October 19, 2012 in Oneonta.

Born July 12, 1945 in New York City, he was the son of Joseph S. Riccardi and Mary A. (Devine) and John "Tiger" Mahoney.

He married Laurie Radner in November of 1991. His loving wife predeceased him October 9, 2012.

Retired from the New York Police Department as a Detective, he was a longtime resident of Inwood and Mahopac.

Survivors are his children, Joseph Riccardi Jr., his wife, Lisa, Jennifer Riccardi and Karen Shaffer, her husband, Stan; grandchildren, Jenna and Michael Riccardi and Cole and Kayla Shaffer; sisters, Carolanne Mahoney and Ann Marie Mahoney; cousin, Karen Graham. He is predeceased by a loving aunt, Elizabeth "Sis" Graham.

A graveside service will be 1 p.m., Thursday, October 25, 2012 at the Raymond Hill Cemetery, Dykeman Road and Route 52, Carmel.
