Troy - Karl D. Oberacker, 56, passed away at home on July 7, 2025 after a lengthy illness.
He was born August 20, 1968 in Cooperstown, the son of Peter K. Oberacker Sr. and Carol (Wendel) Oberacker.
Karl graduated from Andrew S. Draper Central School, Schenevus, Class of 1986. He attended SUNY Delhi, and worked at his family's business, Spicy Pete's Meats. He was by trade a meat cutter and worked at several area supermarkets. He was a member of the Schenevus Valley Lodge No 592 in Schenevus, where he served as Senior Warden at one time.
Karl will be remembered for his big heart and kind soul, as well as his love of animals and friends.
He is survived by his siblings, Cynthia and Michael West, Peter and Shannon Oberacker and Cheryl Oberacker Delello and Christopher Lobb; his nieces and nephews, Zachary West, Holli Ann Oberacker, Derek Oberacker, Ashley Delello and Kragh Delello; great-nieces and great-nephews, Benjamin, Thea, Sutton, Banks, Daniel, and Morgan, as well as several cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, and grandparents, "Nanny" Beverly Wendel and "Pop Pop" Karl Wendel.
A graveside service will be 12 p.m. July 20, at the Schenevus Cemetery on Main Street, Schenevus.
A celebration will be at 1 p.m. July 20 at The Sparrow Hawk, 801 Smokey Ave., Schenevus.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Animal Shelter of Schoharie County, PO Box 40, Howes Cave, NY 12092.
