WORCESTER – Katherine I. Pierce, 86, passed away Friday, May 2, 2008 at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta.
She was born February 9, 1922 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of John and Marion (Anthony) O'Keefe.
She was educated in a one room school house, Calcutta District, East Worcester, and graduated from Redford High School in Detroit, Michigan.
Katherine worked as an Executive Secretary for Nash Kelvenator in Detroit, Michigan.
She married Stanley Pierce on October 24, 1943. They lived in Miller Place (Rocky Point) for 36 years, moving to Worcester in 1990.
She is survived by her husband, Stanley; her son, Daniel and his wife, Dianna and five grandchildren, of Wading River; a sister, Fay Schafer of Detroit, MI and several nieces and nephews.
Her sister, Marion Naples and brother, Jack O'Keefe predeceased her.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2008 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the E.J. Skinner Co. Funeral Chapel in Worcester.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 am, Monday, May 5, 2008 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Worcester, with the Rev. Edward Golding, as celebrant.
Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Worcester.
