Oneonta, NY - Kenneth C. Puffer Sr., 67, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2009 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown.
He was born November 25, 1941 in Hobart, NY, the son of Harold and Alice (Westfall) Puffer.
Ken was a lifelong area resident who served in the National Guard.
He was a police officer in the City of Oneonta for 20 years. He also worked as a Corrections Officer at Camp Pharsalia and was employed at Norwich Beverage.
Ken was a member of the American Legion Post 259, a past member of the Oneonta Moose Lodge and a past member and president of the Police Benevolent Association.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Lorianne Unz and her husband, Daniel of Rochester and Michele Cleveland and her husband, Terry of Mt. Vision; a son, Ken Puffer and his wife, Janice of Valley Cottage, NY; his grandchildren, Danielle, Robert, James, Benjamin, Athene and Jacob; 2 sisters, Kay Briggs of Alaska and Barbara Raymond of Cobleskill; a brother, Ralph Puffer and his wife, Alice of Florida; his dear friend Joanne Domion and several nieces and nephews.
Ken was predeceased by his infant daughter Karen Jayne Puffer and his parents.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 20, 2009 at the Locust Hill Cemetery in Hobart.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., in Oneonta.
