SCHENEVUS - Kurt A. Krueger, Sr., 83, passed away October 10, 2019 at Cooperstown Center.
He was born on June 13, 1936 in Jersey City, NJ, the son of Harry and Mary Lisa - Krueger.
He married Janet Voss-Jindella on October 22, 1955 in New Jersey. Moving from New Jersey, he has been an area resident of Schenevus for 40 plus years.
Kurt was brought up in the family business, Harry & Sons Transmission, in New Jersey, which his father started in 1938. After working there, he decided to go to a trade school for mechanics. In 1981, he owned and operated with his family A&K in Schenevus. Kurt than worked for Schenevus Central School first as a cleaner than a mechanic in the bus garage, retiring in 2009.
Kurt was a member of the Milford Fish and Game Club, along with the Oneonta Sportsman Club, in addition to being a lifetime member of Crumhorn Rod and Gun Club where he enjoyed trap shooting. He was life members of the RC Flyers. He was also a member of the Saint Bernard Club of America. He and Janet showed Saint Bernard's for several years, and had the Rambling Creek Saint's Kennel. Kurt enjoyed camping (at KOA Unadilla) and hunting, most especially spending time with his kids; grandchildren and all his many Saint Bernard's.
Survivors are his children, Linda Andreoli of New Jersey, daughter-in-law, Jean Krueger of Schenevus, Barbara Krueger of North Carolina, Carol Krueger of Schenevus and Janet (Eric) Kitchens of Milford; grandchildren, Gina (Dave) Legora, Philip (Noelle) Andreoli, Justin (Christy) Krueger, Elise (Dan) Cain, Tonianne (Mike) McDonald, Anthony and Michael Krueger; step-grandchildren, Nicole, Adrianne and Trevor; several great-grandchildren, Lucas, Mia, Phil, Jayson, Alexis, and Juliana; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his beloved Saint Bernard, Sadie.
He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Janet in 2011; sons, Kurt A. Krueger, Jr. in 2007 and Anthony Krueger in 2016; siblings, Elsa Agresta, Dominick Krueger, William Krueger and Richard Krueger.
Calling hours will be 11 a.m. to the service at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the Heller & Skinner Funeral Home, 155 Main St., Worcester, with the Rev. Judith A. Thistle, officiating.
The interment will follow at the Schenevus Cemetery.
