Laura L. LaPlant, 87, formerly of East Worcester, passed away Friday, December 18, 2020 at her residence.

She was born on March 9, 1933 in Decatur, NY; the daughter of Walter and Sadie (Dawley) Jeffers.

Laura married Alvin LaPlant Sr. on April 2, 1949 in Richmondville. He predeceased her on March 6, 1988.

She was a lifelong area resident who worked as a cook for various restaurants and nursing homes.

Laura is survived by 2 sons, Joseph LaPlant of Gansevoort and Timothy LaPlant of Summit, daughter Janice Truax of Florida, 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 19 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Alvin LaPlant Jr., grandsons Joseph LaPlant and Walter LaPlant, sisters Marie Becker and Wilma Yoder and her brother Frederick Jeffers.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday November 7, 2021 at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Worcester with Rev. Rus Underwood officiating.
