EAST WORCESTER – Leah Annette Ives Knapp, 70, passed on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta.
She was born February 20, 1942 in Maryland, the daughter of Carlyle and Laura (Banker) Ives.
Leah has been married to James W. Knapp for 49 years.
She attended Worcester Central School and was a member of Cobleskill Full Gospel Church. She was employed at KMS Plastics in Oneonta for several years.
Leah was known for her beautiful and elaborate wedding and birthday cakes. She enjoyed cooking, planting flowers and camping. She was a very giving, kind and loving lady.
She is survived by her husband, James W. Knapp of East Worcester; a son, Jason Aaron and wife, Jennifer Knapp of Oneonta; grandchildren, MaKayla, McKenzie, Joseph, Karen, and Laura; great-grandchildren, Kareem and Layla; her siblings, Stephen and wife, Barbara Ives of Worcester, JoAnn Ives Bellinger of Schenectady, Nancy Ives of Schenectady, and Tracy and wife, Carol Ives of East Worcester; and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her daughter, Stacey Knapp Beacraft of Cortland; as well as her parents.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, August 4, 2012 at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Worcester, with the Rev. Richard Smith, pastor of the Cobleskill Full Gospel Church, officiating.
