Obituary

Leland W. Utter, 87, of Lake City, FL and formerly of Schenevus, NY, passed away October 11, 2015 at the New York State Veterans Home, Oxford.

He was born November 14, 1927 in Maryland, NY, the son of William H. and Ruby (Ritchey) Utter.

Leland was a United Stated Navy veteran, serving in World War II. He is a retired employee from the New York State and Federal Government.

He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He enjoyed golfing and loved to travel and go camping.

He is survived by his children, Stephen Utter of Schenevus, Edward Utter of Cooperstown, Christine Utter of Oneonta, Judy Bailey of Horseheads and Connie Utter of Binghamton; his sister, Thelma Foerster of Delaware; niece, Linda Branick of Windsor; many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Carl Utter; sisters, Frances All and Louise Jacobsen.

There will be no calling hours.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday October 21, 2015 at the Schenevus Cemetery, Main St., Schenevus, with the Rev. Kathy Brumbaugh officiating. Military Honors will be presented by the US Navy.
