Obituary

WORCESTER – Lester W. Burton, 65, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Bassett Healthcare Hospital in Cooperstown, after a long illness.

He was born March 6, 1943 in Worcester, the son of Alfred and Mina (Morell) Burton.

Lester was a life long area resident and held many jobs in the construction field. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by a special nephew, Pete Burton and friend, Deb Warner; a sister, Tillie Resue; an aunt, Dorothy Joyce and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his mother, Mina; a sister, Dorothy Wayman and two brothers, Pete and Alfred Burton.

Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at the E.J. Skinner Co. Funeral Chapel in Worcester.

The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at the Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Judith A. Thistle, pastor of the Worcester Second Baptist Church, officiating.

Interment will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Worcester.
