MARYLAND – Lillian R. Rundblad, 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at the Bridgewater Nursing Home in Binghamton.

Lil was born May 24, 1931in the Bronx, the daughter of Miles and Frances Rogers; she was one of eleven children.

She married Frederick Rundblad on June 18, 1948, who survives her; as well as her children, Gail, Jim, Steven, Donald, Bob, Frances and John. Her son, Frederick Jr., grandson, Brandon, and brothers, Benny and Howard predeceased her. Lil is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Red, Richie, Jerry and Joseph; her sisters, Patrica, Kathy, Betty, and Mercedes; step-mother, Ann Rogers; several nieces and nephews.

Lil worked hard all her life, besides motherhood; at age 59, she got her drivers license and worked as a cook at many local restaurants and as a caregiver for many years. She was well known as everyone's Nana and loved by everyone she knew and met. She attracted all walks of life.

Lil's favorite past time was Bingo. If there was a Bingo game somewhere, she was there with her extended Bingo family who she loved dearly. Lil had an infectious zest for life. She enjoyed life to the fullest sharing precious time with family. She was also active at the adult day care center in Oneonta, where she had many friends. Lil will be greatly missed by whose life she touched, especially her daughter, Frances and Larry, Bert, Tara, Brooke, Billy and Alex and all her faithful dogs, who gave her much comfort and joy.

Calling hours will be 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the Heller Funeral Home, Schenevus. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Judith A. Thistle, officiating.
