Obituary

Lisa "Pinkie" Kopf, 68, passed away August 6, 2025, at Wynn Hospital in Utica after a courageous battle with colon cancer.

Born November 29, 1956, in Amityville, NY, to Charles William Kopf II and Elvira (Kobza) Kopf. Pinkie grew up in Plainview, Long Island, where she loved and was loved by many. It was here that she developed her love of writing poetry and horseback riding. She raised her daughter, Bonnie Gibb, in her childhood home and passed on her love of horses. As a parent, she was viewed as the "Cool Mom" to all Bonnie's friends, and always made sure that everyone felt loved and accepted, no matter what. There were always cookies and hugs to be had.

In 1999, Pinkie realized her dream of moving to a small town in upstate New York. She was an active member of Mountain View Wellness Center in Oneonta, NY where she made many friends and expanded her writing to include short stories and writing prompts to inspire other writers. She learned photography and spent many years looking for old barns, wild animals, and cute cats to photograph.

Pinkie delighted in making people smile and laugh when they needed it most. She loved British television, particularly comedies and mysteries. She was devoted to her cat CoCo and loved sharing pictures of him with anyone who would look. She was loved beyond all measure and will be very missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (Brian) Gibb; brother, Kevin (Judy) Kopf; granddaughter, Fiona Gibb; nieces, Heather Kopf and Jennifer (Kopf) Nelson; nephews, Charles Kopf III and Christopher Kopf; and was recently reunited with the child whom she had given up for adoption, Jamie Svochak.

To best honor her fun and nature-loving spirit, Pinkie's life will be celebrated in August 2026 in Richfield Springs. Donations may be made to Rosemary Farm Sanctuary, 1646 Roses Brook Rd, South Kortright, NY 13842.

Condolences may be sent to www.lhpfuneralhome.com; Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta.
