Louise E. Peebles, 74, of Oneonta, passed away at her residence, Thursday, August 24, 2006, after a lengthy illness with her husband and daughter at her side.

She was born on February 6, 1932 in Butts Corners, NY, the daughter of Alton and Grace (Bostwick) Sperry.

Louise married Robert H. Peebles on July 3, 1954 in Oneonta.

Along with being a homemaker, Louise and her sister, Agnes had a wallpapering business together.

She was a lifelong area resident.

Louise is survived by her husband, Robert H. Peebles; 2 daughters, Tonia Kelley and husband, Michael of Ballston Lake, NY and Janet Peebles and fiancée, David Leclair of Oneonta; 2 sons, Ronald Peebles and Deborah of Smyrna, NY and Dale Peebles and Connie Cornwell of Vale, AZ; grandchildren, Robert and Kevin Byam, Stephanie, Blake and Ashlie Diaz, Morgan Kelley, and Randy and Adam Peebles; great grandchildren, Marcus Byam and Cameron Diaz; 2 sisters, Agnes Rous and Neva Crawford; 3 Brothers, Russell, Donald and Roger Sperry and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Ernest Sperry and 2 sisters, Claudine Sabedra and Edith Delello.

A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 28, 2006 at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta with the Rev. Douglas Burleigh, chaplain at Bassett Healthcare Hospital in Cooperstown officiating.

Burial will follow at the Oneonta Plains Cemetery.

Calling hours will be Sunday, August 27, 2006 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Lewis Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in loving memory of Louise to the Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care, 1 Birchwood Drive, Oneonta, NY 13820.
