Lucy Baldo Gaisford passed away in Melbourne, Florida on February 22, 2016 at the age of 99 after a brief illness.

She was born in Oneonta, NY on June 3, 1916, the daughter of Donato and Caroline (Cirillo) Baldo.

In 1954, she received her Bachelor's Degree in Education at Oneonta State Teachers College, now SUNY Oneonta. She later went on to earn her Master's Degree from Stetson University in Florida. Lucy was retired from Brevard County School System in Melbourne, Florida after working for over 30 years in education.

She was married to John (Jack) Gaisford in 1956. After retiring, Lucy and Jack enjoyed traveling and entertaining family and friends. Jack predeceased her in 1986. Lucy was also predeceased by her daughter, Marie (Claude) Murwin; her siblings, Tony (Ann) Baldo, Pat (Edith) Baldo, Jennie (Rudy) Rudisill, and Albert (Helen) Blado.

Lucy is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Hank) Quackenbush; grandchildren, Randy (Leslie) Murwin, Sally (Ross) Emsley, Beth Murwin (George Allen), Stephen Murwin, David Quackenbush (Michelle Shultis), Mark (Janet) Quackenbush, and Kristin (Tom) Goodrich; great-grandchildren, Randy (Amy) Murwin, Stephanie Murwin (Mike Dougherty), Brittany and Macey Quackenbush, Drue and Bryn Quackenbush; brother-in-law, Ted (Emily) Gaisford, and sister-in-law, Barbara Quintin; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours.

A funeral mass will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 39 Walnut St., Oneonta, NY.

Her remains will be interred at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lucy's name may be made to the Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care, 1 Birchwood Dr., Oneonta, NY 13820.
