ONEONTA - Lydia Louise Paffenroth Armstrong, 77, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, December 10, 2013.
Born Lydia Louise Wager-Wilsey in Hamden, NY on May 11, 1936.
Lydia was a fabulous mother, grandmother, foster-mother and childcare provider. She ran "Nana's Daycare" from her home in Oneonta for nearly 25 years.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Armstrong at home; children, Roxane (Roger) Carpenter, Peter (Mindy), Robert (Marge), John (Stacy) Paffenroth; Karen (Randy) Olmsted, Shawn (Kelli) Paffenroth, Charles (Jessie), Kim (Cathy), Tim (Linda), Tracy (Dawn), Duane (Judy), and Norma Armstrong. Grandchildren, Shane, Robert, Ryan, Luis, Oscar, Monique, Jenny, Chasity, Peter, Michelle, Kerry, Amanda, Robert Jr., Samantha, Chelsea, Dylan, Kourtney, PeggyLynn, Kristina, Sierra, Taylor, Cassidy, Aundrea, Joseph, Damon, Danica, Cody, Lexzy, Savanah, Kaite, Wade, Tabitha, Crystal, James, Ashley, Joey, Brittney, Michael, Richard, Kaylynn, Cassandra, and Dustin. Special foster children, Donna Hyatt and her 3 children, Bridget (Jim) Bredin and their 7 children and Bethany Kenney and her 2 children; in addition 27 Great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by one son, Richard Paffenroth.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Lydia Armstrong will be held at 4 pm on Saturday, December 14th at the Milford Center Community Bible Church, St Hwy 28, Oneonta, NY.
