Marguerite G. Hughes, 85, passed away, Wednesday, January, 15, 2020 at the A.O. Fox Nursing Home in Oneonta.

She was born on November 10, 1934 in Worcester, NY: the daughter of Edward and Gladys (Knapp) Hollenbeck.

Marguerite married Carl Lyle Hughes on April 29, 1967 in Worcester. He predeceased her on April 13, 2018.

She worked at the Upstate Home for Children for 33 years.

Marguerite loved going to Turning Stone Casino, gardening and animals.

She is survived by her daughter Sharon Hughes of Oneonta, her significant other Douglas Finger, her brothers-in-law, Kenneth and Patricia Hughes and Charles and Ester Hughes of Milford, sisters-in-law Martha and Paul Constatine of Ft. Walton, Florida and June Hollenbeck of Worcester and several nieces and nephews.

Marguerite was predeceased by her parents and siblings, John Hollenbeck, Bob Hollenbeck, Carrie Hollenbeck, Willard Hollenbeck and Jane Hollenbeck.

A private graveside service will be held at the Hartwick Cemetery at a later date.
