Richmondville – Maria Theresia Sebastiana Saginario, 27, passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 1, 2011 at her home in Astoria.

She was born June 29, 1983 in East Meadow, the daughter of Phillip J. and Maria Theresia (Mifsud) Saginario.

Maria was home schooled at Our Lady of Hope. She enjoyed writing, especially poetry. Maria was a people person and always saw the good in everyone she met. Above all she loved her family.

Maria is survived by her parents, Phillip and Maria "Mary" Saginario; her brothers and sisters, Nicholas and Jacinta Saginario, Elizabeth and Jacob Sanna, Anthony and Rhema Saginario and Rebecca Saginario; her nieces and nephews, Devon, Augustine, Anastasia, Monica, Kateri, Aleita, Lillian, Cozette and Evangeline; her grandmothers, Mary Mifsud and Marie Saginario; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was predeceased by her grandfathers, Joseph Mifsud and Dante Saginario Sr., and uncles, Dante Saginario Jr. and Michael Mifsud.

Calling hours will be held 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at the E.J. Skinner Co., 155 Main St., Worcester.

A Mass of Tridentine Rite will be Noon, Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at St. Joseph's Church, 201 Main St., Worcester, with the Rev. Jeffery L'Arche, as celebrant.

Interment will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Worcester.
