Marion J. Palmer's Obituary
SANFORD, NC - Marion Johanna Palmer, 96, of Sanford, North Carolina died February 28, 2008 at Sanford Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born December 10, 1911 at the home of her grandfather in Maryland, and was the daughter of the late Burton Palmer and Eve Belle Markle Palmer.
She attended Worcester Central School.
Marion was a civil defense instructor during World War II. She aided injured troops with extensive injuries and did volunteer work in the V. A. Hospital in New York.
Prior to moving to North Carolina, she lived in New Jersey caring for an aunt.
She is survived by several cousins in New York and North Carolina.
Services were previously held in North Carolina.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 24, 2008 at the Schenevus Cemetery, with the Rev. Lawrence Russell, pastor at the Schenevus United Methodist Church, officiating.
