WORCESTER – Martha A. Cloughly, 93, passed away February 1, 2016 at Focus Nursing Home at Otsego, Cooperstown.
She was born April 20, 1922 in Hackensack, NJ, the daughter of Henry and Sophia (Remmert) Stellman.
She married Herbert T. Cloughly on December 15, 1951 in River Edge, NJ. He passed away April 13, 2004.
In 1980 after Herbert's retirement, they moved to Worcester. Martha was a homemaker and was also a Key Holder for Chase Organ Co. She was a special friend to the members of the Second Baptist Church in Worcester. She was the designer of the church stenciling, choosing the pattern and colors. She and others spent three dedicated years stenciling the entire church. For more than 20 years, she was church flower designer as well. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her daughter, JoAnne Cloughly of East Worcester; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Henry.
A graveside service at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Worcester for Martha and Herbert will be announced at a later date.
