Martha J. Rosscoe, 74, passed away Monday, January 24, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born on September 2, 1936 in the Bronx, the daughter of Frank and Hazel (Volz) Marano.
Martha married Frederic A. Rosscoe Jr. on September 4, 1954 in the Bronx. He predeceased her on April 20, 1996.
She worked as a cafeteria manager at the Richmondville Central School.
Martha lived in the Richmondville area for several years, and then moved to Schenevus in 1991.
She enjoyed her family, traveling and cooking.
Martha is survived by 3 sons, Frederic Rosscoe III (Cathy) of Jefferson, NY, Raymond Rosscoe (Jane) of Carlisle, NY and James Rosscoe (Carolyn) of Altamont, NY; 2 daughters, Mary Diefendorf (Steve) of Cobleskill and Lorraine Van Slyke (Neal) of Fort Plain, NY; 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, her brother Bill Marano (Ellie) of South Carolina; 2 sister-in-laws, Marie Hurley (Tom) and Joyce Marano, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Francis Marano.
A graveside service will be held at the Schenevus Cemetery 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011 with the Rev. Thomas Holmes, officiating.
