Decatur – Mary Theresa Ambrose, 90, passed away July 29, 2019.

She was born November 13, 1928 in Brooklyn, the daughter of Norman Alfred and Elizabeth Lorretta (Gillen) Grosser.

She married Frank Ambrose on June 6, 1954 at Our Lady of the Snows R.C. Church,Bluepoint, NY.

Mary was an area resident from 1980.  She was an artist, enjoying painting in oils and sketching, and hand sown all clothes.   She was also an avid quilter and a member of the Schoharie Piece Makers.  Mary was an amazing cook, a wonderful mother, a proud grandmother, an exceptional great-grandmother who had a beautiful zest for living and being happy.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth McDonald; her granddaughter, Karen (James) Whalen; great-grandchildren, Katherine and Jack Whalen; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Frank Ambrose; sons, Frank Ambrose and Frederick Ambrose; granddaughter, Megan McDonald and two sister, Violet Jones and Leanore Grosser.

A funeral mass will be 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2019 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Main St., Worcester with the Fr. Juanito Asprec, as celebrant.

Burial will follow at the Schenevus Cemetery.
