ONEONTA – Mary Ellen Geissinger, 79, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.
She was born February 13, 1933 in Petersburg, PA, the daughter of Earl and Elsie Genevieve (Lightner) Scott.
Mary Ellen married Richard S. Geissinger on October 14, 1952 in Huntingdon, PA.
She worked at The Meadows Nursing Home for 20 years in the dietary department. Mary Ellen enjoyed to garden and she loved her flowers.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Richard S. Geissinger of Oneonta; her children, Debra and Bruce Warner of Akron, OH, Richard and Danielle Geissinger of Laurens, and Kim Lindberg of Middlefield; grandchildren, John Lindberg, Jr., Justin (Megan) Lindberg and Alexandria Geissinger; a great-granddaughter, Lillian "Izzy" Lindberg; her siblings, Louise Sausser, Naomi "Nome" Weaver, Wilmer Scott, Elmer Scott, Bill Scott and Patricia Weyer; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, and siblings, Martha, Wilber "Sonny", Cloyd and Gertrude Scott.
Calling hours will be 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2012 at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, Oneonta. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Mel Farmer, officiating.
Interment will take place in Pennsylvania at the convenience of the family.
