RICHFIELD SPRINGS – Mary Lorraine Hawkins, 85, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 10, 2010, she was at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown.



She was born August 1, 1924 in Burlington, VT, the daughter of Leon and Rosa (Roberts) Lambert.



Mary enjoyed traveling with her friends. She was an avid reader and loved to share her books with her family.



She is survived by her children, Robert and Mary Ann Hammond of Albany, Grace and Brian Post of Clifton Park, Rita Smith of North Carolina, James Hawkins of Ilion, Steven Hawkins of Richfield Springs and Jean Ann Everett of Bainbridge; grandchildren, Robert, Mary Beth, David, Allen, Laury, Kailie, Kyle, Sarah, Gwen, JJ, Ashley and Sylvia; great-grandchildren, Abbie Jo and Connor; brother, Frederick Lambert; sisters, Rose Ann Garrison, Marie Giambalvo, Lillian Sassano, Dorothy Shaw and Priscilla Stubbins; and many nieces and nephews.



She was predeceased by her first husband, Russell Hammond and her second husband, James Hawkins; a brother, Leon (Sonny) Lambert; sisters, Teresa Ouimet and Ernestine Tubbs; and a granddaughter, Becky Sutliff.



A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, Oneonta, with the Rev. Keith VanDewerker, officiating.
