ONEONTA – Mary Patricia Marengo, 76, formerly of Otego, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2007 at A.O. Fox Nursing Home in Oneonta, after a lengthy illness.

She was born October 2, 1930 in Portland, Oregon, the daughter of Brian and Ludwina (Marengo) O'Day.

She married Bruce J. Marengo on January 18, 1964 in Oneonta. He predeceased her on May 28, 1993.

Mrs. Marengo moved to Otego in 1974. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oneonta.

She is survived by three nieces, Cheryle Rapp, April Nigro and Michelle Puckett, all of Connecticut; a great nephew, Michael Nigro; and her close friend, Carol Beckman of Otego.

A graveside memorial service will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, October 12, 2007 at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Emmons, with the Rev. Joseph Benintende, officiating.

There will be no calling hours or services at this time.
