ONEONTA - May Henrietta Graves Crepeau, 94, of Oneonta, NY died peacefully at Otsego Manor in Cooperstown, NY on Tuesday July 13, 2010.
Born in North Bergen, New Jersey on February 23, 1916 she was the daughter of Stanley Graves and Mary (Mohr) Graves. She was the only daughter of 5 children.
She married her late husband Albert J. Crepeau Sr. in 1942. During World War II while her husband was serving in the Army, she was employed by the U.S. Rubber Company as a secretary.
After the war they lived in North Bergen, New Jersey. In 1955 she and her husband moved to Bergenfield, New Jersey where she worked as a legal secretary for the Allstate Insurance Company. Following her retirement, she with her husband moved to Oneonta.
An avid knitter, Mrs. Crepeau produced numerous items for Veterans, friends, family and her church.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon M. Hodurski of Cape Cod, Massachusetts; her son, Albert J. Crepeau, Jr. of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Erich Hodurski, Robert Hodurski, Stephanie Crepeau, Taryn Seiler and great-grandchildren, Heather and Nicholas. She is also survived by her brothers, George and Harry.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Stanley and Charles.
A Memorial Service to be held at the River Street Baptist Church, River Street, Oneonta, Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 11:00 am, with the Rev. Mel Farmer, pastor, officiating.
