Trinity, NC - Michael David Kachina, 60, passed away at his home on March 2, 2025.

He was born November 17, 1964, in Cobleskill, NY.

Mike graduated from Andrew S. Draper Central School in Schenevus, Class of 1982. He obtained an Associates Degree in Animal Husbandry from SUNY Delhi and was a Licensed Animal Health Technician.

While living in New York, Mike worked at Aqueduct Animal Hospital (Niskayuna), Saratoga Springs Veterinary Hospital, Harmony Veterinary Clinic (Ballston Spa), Capital District Animal Emergency Clinic (Latham), Milton Veterinary Hospital (Milton), Capital District Veterinary Surgical Associates (Pattersonville), and Schenectady County Animal Protective Foundation (Scotia).  He also worked at Oneonta Job Corps Academy. He moved to Trinity, North Carolina 13 years ago and worked for Serta Mattress Company.

Mike was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He was active in RC Car Racing. He was a passionate NASCAR fan and a collector NASCAR memorabilia.

He is survived by his father, George "Buddy" (Charlene) Beams; his sister, Lisa (Matt) Stuerwald; niece, Marisa (Michael) Hancock; great nephew, Brayden Hancock; great niece, Avery Hancock; grandmother, Minnie Beams; many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

He was predeceased, by his mother, Lillian (Slater) Beams; grandparents, Harley and Evelyn Slater and George Beams Sr.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday August 9 at Cobleskill Rural Cemetery, 151 Quarry Street, Cobleskill, NY 12043
