Michael J. Usalatz, 92, of Worcester, passed away, Saturday, July, 7, 2007 at the Otsego Manor.

He was born November 9, 1914 in West Frankfort, Ill., the son of Alex and Katy (Pavic) Usalatz.

Mike married Vera B. Roseboom on October 14, 1937 in Schenevus.

He was a longtime area resident and at one time owned and operated Mike's Garage in Worcester.

Mike was a member of the Worcester United Methodist Church, member and past president of the Southeastern Otsego Rotary, the Worcester Hose Company, the Otsego Numismatics Association, Schenevus Valley Masonic Lodge #592 and he was a Shriner and member of the Kalura Temple.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Jean Ames and Evelyn and her husband Raymond Preston all of Worcester; 5 grandsons, Mike Ames, Bryan Ames and his wife Erin, Justin Preston, Jon Preston and Nate Preston and his wife Charity; 2 great grandsons, Jack and Camden Ames and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Vera and 2 sisters, Katherine Matuljak and Mary Pemberton.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at the Worcester United Methodist Church, Main Street, Worcester with the Rev. Joyce Allen, officiating.

Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Worcester.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, July 10, 2007 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. At the E.J. Skinner Co. Funeral Chapel, 155 Main Street, Worcester. A Masonic service will be held at 7:00 p.m.

At the family's request in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in loving memory of Mike to the Catskill Area Hospice and Pallitive Care, 1 Birchwood Drive, Oneonta, NY 13820 or the Shriner's Hospital, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
