Mt. Vision – Nancy W. Hayen, 81, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026, at home, surrounded by her beloved family and animals.

She was born June 9, 1945, in Schenectady, the daughter of Kermit and Ruth (Failing) Wood.

Nancy graduated from Utica College of Syracuse University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry.

Throughout her life, Nancy was a strong, persistent, and hardworking woman who never gave up. She worked at HW Naylor Company, was a full-time farmer, and later started her own bookkeeping business, BizWiz.

Nancy had a deep love for animals and farming and took great pride in caring for any animal that was sick, injured, or in need. She would do everything she could to help them and never gave up on an animal that needed her. Her compassion and dedication were a reflection of the caring person she was. 

Nancy’s strength, determination, and loving spirit touched the lives of so many. She will be deeply missed and forever loved by her family and all who knew her. Her kindness, compassion, and love for animals will remain a beautiful part of her legacy.

She is survived by her husband, John Hayen; her children, Deborah (Terry) Mostert and Michael (Karen) Duheme; her grandson, Shane Duheme, and her great-grandchildren, Makayla and Lucas.

She was predeceased by her step-son, John Hayen.
