ONEONTA - Nellie K. Limerick of Oneonta died April 11, 2012.

She was born March 28, 1917 in Cohoes, NY, the daughter of Walter and Ethel (Osborne) Brown.

Nellie graduated from Waterford High School and Albany Business College and worked as a secretary for General Electric in Schenectady.

On July 24, 1948 she married Samuel C. Limerick. In 1958 they moved with their two daughters to Oneonta. For many years Nellie worked as secretary for two Agway managers. Over the years Nellie was an active member and involved with many activities at the First Presbyterian Church in Oneonta. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Nellie was predeceased by her parents; her husband and her brother, Philip.

Surviving are her sister, Elsie (Thomas) Kimball of Hudson, NY; two daughters, Betty (Martin) Goldband of Cary, NC, and Carolyn (James) Austin of Oneonta. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Craig (Katrina) Goldband of London, England, Eric Goldband of Portland, OR, Jeffrey (fiancée, Kari) Austin of Schenevus, NY, Cynthia (Peter) Smith of Waltham, MA and Michael Austin of Newton, MA; a great-grandson, Kyle Goldband of London; many nieces and nephews and a cousin in England.

The memorial service will be held at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home in Oneonta at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012, with the Rev. Mark Monfort, officiating. Following the service there will be a time for visitation at the funeral home.

Burial will be at the Oakwood Cemetery in Troy, NY.
