Obituary

WORCESTER – Nemesia M. Bristol, 65, passed away Thursday's evening, February 21, 2013 at her home.

She was born December 26, 1947 in Alaminos City, Pangasinan, Philippines, the daughter of Calixto and Encarnacion (Manzano) Bristol.

Nemie became a certified Mid-Wife during her earlier married life, riding a motorcycle thru the villages in the Philippines delivering babies. She got paid with vegetables, chickens, eggs, or whatever the people were able to afford.

Nemie attended Culinary Institute in Athens, Greece for Embassy personnel, and was hired by Ambassador McMurtrie & Elizabeth Godley as their private chef when he retired to Morris, NY. Nemie as a child always wanted to come to America and to become a citizen; her wish came true with this opportunity. Currently she was working as a chef at the Otesaga Resort Hotel in Cooperstown.

She is a member of St Joseph's Catholic Church and Altar Rosary Society in Worcester, NY. She helped organize the Asian American Association of Otsego County, was a past President and an active member. She was an excellent seamstress, cake decorator, Chef, Mom, Grandma, friend and will be greatly missed!

She is survived by 2 daughters, Jinky Timbol of London, England and Mary Ann Bregaj of Athens, Greece; 2 sons, Noel Cabrito of Manila, Philippines and Jhon Cabrito of Manila, Philippines; 9 grandchildren, 3 younger sisters in Athens, Greece and Manila, Philippines; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles spread around the world.

A memorial mass will be held 11 a.m., March 9, 2013 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Main St., Worcester, New York with the Rev. Ronald Green, MM, as celebrant.

Her family in the Philippines, have scheduled an overnight vigil on March 9, 2013 at the Eternal Gardens chapel in Dagupan City. A Requiem Mass will be offered the following Sunday morning ahead of the interment at 10:00am.
