Worcester – Norman D. Chase, 76, died December 22, 2019 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.

He was born December 9, 1943 in Oneonta, the son of Willard F. and Maryon R. (Hubbell) Chase.

Norman was a life-long Worcester resident. He graduated from Worcester Central School in 1961 then attended Becker Junior College in Worcester, MA where he earned an Associate's Degree in Business Administration. He came back to Worcester to work at his family's business, Chase Chevrolet and in 1993 became the owner.

He was a United States Army veteran serving from 1964 to 1965.

He married Alta Grosfent on July 26, 1969 at the Second Baptist Church in Worcester.

Norman joined the Worcester Hose Company in 1963 and served as an officer and the chaplain for many years. He was also a member of the Milford Center Community Bible Church.

He his survived by his son, David and Lynn Chase of Worcester; brother, Sidney and Dorelle Chase of Worcester; 2 nephews; sister-in-law, Linda Grosfent of Worcester; step-mother, Ella Chase; step-siblings, Marie Allen, Jim and Gail Alcott.

He was predeceased by his wife, Alta December 26, 2012; infant siblings, Richard and Priscilla.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday January 11, 2020 at the Milford Center Community Bible Church with the Rev. Stephen Fournier officiating.
