Worcester - Norman Ives, 82, passed away Tuesday, January, 27 2009 at
home with his family by his side.
He was born December, 21 1926 in Worcester, the son of Harrison and
Susie (Terk) Ives.
Norman and Mary Madden were married July, 20 1949 in the Second
Baptist Church, Worcester.
He was a life time area resident operating a dairy farm and retired
from the Audiosears Electronics Corporation in Stamford.
Norman was President and a member of the Eastern Milk Producers, and a
member of the Institute of Culture Affairs, Future Farmers of America
and Worcester Central School marching band.
Norman was an antique engine buff and was an active participant in
east coast engine shows until his health declined.
He loved to square dance and polka, the Corn Field in Fly Creek was
one of his favorite places.
Norman is survived by his loving wife, Mary of 59 years; his eight
children, Celeste Hanson of Fort Myers, FL, Roger and wife, Joan of
Charlotteville, Brenda and husband, Chris Foster of Fuquay-Varina, NC,
Lisa and husband, William Brooker, Shannon and husband, Peter
Oberacker of Schenevus, Denise and husband, Ken Brown of Owego, Darin
and wife, Charity of Westford and Ryan and wife, Crescent of
Worcester; twenty grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and
several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 31, 2009
at the E.J. Skinner Co. Funeral Chapel in Worcester with the Rev.
Judith A. Thistle officiating.
A calling hour will be held from 1:00 p.m. till the service time at 2:00 p.m.
Interment in Maple Grove Cemetery will take place in the spring.
