Oren G. Pomeroy's Obituary
ONEONTA – Oren G. Pomeroy, 96, passed away with family and friends at his bedside, Friday, July 25, 2008 at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta.
He was born July 4, 1912 in Whitestone NY, the son of Oren and Laura (Gerlach) Pomeroy.
Oren married Verna Miller on Long Island in December of 1939. She predeceased him in December of 2004.
Oren is survived by two daughters, Gail and her husband, Ron Casey of East Meadow, NY and Donna Belger of Kingwood, TX and one son, Steven of Burlington Flats.
Oren was predeceased by two sons, Oren and David.
A calling hour will be held Sunday, July 27, 2008 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta. A funeral service will follow with the Rev. Gary Bonebrake, officiating.
A private interment will take place later at the Woodland Cemetery in Delhi.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Oren's memory to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 4841 St Hwy 28, Cooperstown NY 13326.
