Obituary

We are sad to announce that on March 13, 2022, at the age of 89, Patricia Locke DuBois passed away.  She was surrounded by family as she took her last steps from this world into her forever home with her beloved Elliott.

She was loved and cherished by many people, including her parents, Frank and Alice Locke (Trimmer); her siblings who predeceased her, twin sisters Katherine Farr and Alice Zanghi, and her brother John Locke, all from the Rochester area.

Pat met her husband P. Elliott DuBois while they both attended the Crane School of Music at Potsdam State University.  They married on September 5, 1953 and enjoyed 67 years of marriage together and were each other's best friends.  They had 5 children, Ronald Paul DuBois (wife Diana Miller DuBois), John Craig DuBois (wife Laurel Faverau DuBois), Gerald William DuBois (Elaine Bonadies), Philip Edward DuBois (Angela Smith), and Anita Cleveland (husband Christopher Cleveland).  From these children came a gaggle of grand, great-grand, and great-great-grandchildren on which they showered their love and affection.

Pat was a transplant to Worcester, having been born in Livonia, NY, near Rochester.  She was an honorary student at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY while in high school.  Her piano skills were noticed even then, and throughout her life she would forever be accompanist to her children, her director/husband, and to the myriad of students at WCS.

One of Pat's passions was caring for the elderly.  While she was still young, she volunteered for the Fellowship Group in Worcester.  Every Thursday a group from the "older generation" met to have tea, coffee, games, etc. and she was in the middle, helping to serve.  Later on in life she became an Ombudsman, helping to support elderly in nursing and adult facilities.

Woven through all of her life long activities was her Faith in God.  This was the foundation for all she did.

There will be a joint memorial service for both Pat and Elliott DuBois 11:00am on Saturday, March 26th at Otsego Christian Academy, 353 Main Street, Otego, NY.
