Obituary

ONEONTA – Patricia L. Fox, 81, went to be with The Lord August 4, 2010, she passed at her home in the arms of her daughter and husband nearby.



She was born April 4, 1929 in the Queens Borough of New York, the daughter of Henry and JoHanna (Kelly) Kunkel.



She married Joseph J. Fox on October 22, 1949 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oneonta.



Mrs. Fox was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Altar Rosary Society.



Mrs. Fox was a retired secretary for St. Mary's School, where she worked for more than 20 years. She also at one time was employed as a medical office receptionist, an insurance biller, a bookkeeper and worked many years with Grand Union. You name it, Pat did it all.



Pat had a contagious smile, a dedicated soul and a strong drive. She was the kindest, most generous, outgoing and an utterly amazing strong woman who held on to her faith. She adored her husband and children.



She is survived by her husband, Joseph J. Fox; a son, Col. Charles W. Fox and his wife, Teresa, of Aurora, CO; a daughter, Dr. Anne-Marie Fox, PT, DPT, COMT of Thornton, CO; a son, Thomas W. Fox and his wife, Janine, of Unatego; and only granddaughter, Carrie Ann Fox of Denver, CO; her sisters, Maureen Kunkel Basquin of California, Jackie Kunkel Gustafson of Arizona, and Anita Kunkel Scott of Georgia, her loving cousin Francis R. Kelly, his wife margaret of Long Island, NY, several very close and wonderful friends including Beth Sincewicz, Margaret Olechowski, Robin English, Barb Erbe, Kay Parrella and many, many more. She also is survived by nieces, nephews, and relatives.



She was predeceased by her sister, Joan Kunkel Murphy of Albany and her loving aunt,Catherine Rimassi of West Oneonta.



Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 8, 2010 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, Oneonta.



A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, August 9, 2010 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 39 Walnut St., Oneonta, with the Rev. Joseph Benintende, as celebrant.



Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Emmons.



Donations may be made in loving memory of Mrs. Fox to Catskill Area Hospice & Palliative Care, 1 Birchwood Dr., Oneonta, NY or to the St. Mary's Rosary Society, 39 Walnut St., Oneonta, NY 13820.
