Worcester - Patricia S. Hoye , 83, died Thursday May 28, 2020 at Valley Health Services in Herkimer, NY.

Pat was born on September 2, 1936 in Cooperstown, the daughter of Gilbert F. Smith and Irene (DeLong) Smith and raised on the family dairy farm in Worcester, NY.

She was a graduate of Worcester Central School class of 1954 and Hartwick College class of 1958 with a BS in Nursing.

On November 22, 1958 Pat married Bernard F. Hoye, Jr. at St. Joseph's Rectory in Worcester.

As an RN she was employed in various nursing positions during her career including Case Manager at Bassett Medical Center, Pediatric Nurse at Fox Hospital and school nurse at Worcester Central School, retiring in 1999.

Pat was a long-time member of the Worcester Emergency Squad, where she was a former First Lieutenant. She was a volunteer at The Worcester Free Library and very active with the Quarter Inch Quilt Club. Pat supported many other local civic efforts.

She and her husband enjoyed RV travel; traveling the United States and Canada extensively. She was a skilled quilt maker who leaves many fine examples of her work.  She enjoyed all forms of embroidery, particularly counted cross-stitch. Pat was an accomplished cook and baker passing these life skills forward to her children and grandchildren.

Survived by her children, Bernard and wife, Ellen of Skippack, PA, Timothy and wife, Carol of Downingtown, PA, Lisa and husband, Gary Mantz of Chittenango, NY; grandchildren, Emily and Timothy Hoye, Connor, Garret, Sarah and Alec Mantz; brothers, Bruce and Jerry Smith, sisters, Gwen Petro and Harriet Cornwell, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard F. Hoye, Jr. in 2011.

Funeral and graveside services will be private with interment to be at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Worcester.

The family would like to thank the administration and staff at the Clara Welch Thanksgiving Home in Cooperstown where she has recently been a resident.
