Obituary

DECATUR - Phil Koerner, 76, passed away on March 8, 2021.

He was predeceased by his wife, Lorraine and is survived by daughter, Kristine; son, Philip, and grandchildren, Samantha, Jacob and Maddison.

Phil was a United States Navy veteran. He worked for the D&H Railroad and finished his 30+ year career retiring from Amtrack.

Phil's love of the outdoors, hunting, and fishing kept him busy. There were many outings and trips with family and friends over the years.  Those trips, and every other day, were filled with talking and storytelling.  With his stories you were always listening but not always sure if they were true or a "whopper."

Being social with almost everyone was something that he enjoyed. Going to Stewart's for a cup of tea, never coffee, with friends was a favorite pastime and of course, time for more stories!

With his passing we have lost someone special and important. Life will be a little quieter for a while but the memories of those stories, the caring he showed, and good times together will bring smiles and fond memories later on.  Although he will be missed, we will cherish our time together forever.

Expressions of sympathy may be sent to, www.hellerskinnerfh.com ; arrangements are with Heller & Skinner Funeral Home, 155 Main St., Worcester.
