Obituary

Worcester – Rachel Hollenbeck Lusi, 74, passed away December 27, 2022 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.

She was born February 28, 1948 in Oneonta, the daughter of Willard R. and Gladys (Raymond) Hollenbeck.

Rachel graduated from Worcester Central School, Class of 1966.

She is survived by her sons, David (Debbie) Cook, Daniel Cook, Tim Cook (Jill Matz), all of Worcester; her daughter, Tina Lusi Giordano (Gregory), of Suffern, an unborn granddaughter, Emmeline Giordano; and her brother, Bruce Hollenbeck of Worcester.

Rachel was part owner of Hollenbeck Farm.  She always enjoyed working with the cattle.  Her favorite interests were her horses, cooking and spending time with her family.  She got her first pony when she was young, and since she could not say pony, she called him PoPo, so that was his name forever.  She was one of the founder's of the Worcester Saddle Tramp Horse Club.

Rachel was the breakfast and lunch cook at the Worcester White House Inn, plus she did all the baking.  She was also a Home Health Caregiver, and took care of Ed Marvel and Ben Cerra and several others.

At her request she is being cremated.  Her ashes will be spread on the family farm she loved so much.
