Oneonta, NY
Ralph Lyle Warren, 74, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2007, at the A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta.
He was born June 13, 1932 in Meridale, NY; the son of Ralph W. and Florence E. (Jester) Warren.
Lyle married Anne L. Cleaveland on September 11, 1955 at the Elm Park United Methodist Church in Oneonta.
He was a lifelong area resident and graduated from the Kellogg Central School in Treadwell. He worked for Kiff's Feed Store, Delhi, Hi-Health Dairies and in later years was employed by the Oneonta School District as a groundsman and for ARA Food Service delivering food to the Oneonta schools.
Lyle was a member of the Treadwell United Methodist Church, the Oneonta Elk's Club #1312 and the Teamster's Industry and Local #338.
He enjoyed tending to his lawn and playing cards with his friends.
Lyle is survived by his wife Anne of Oneonta, three sons; Russell Warren and his companion Stacy Smith of North Norwich, Donald Warren and his companion Rowena Perkins of Cape Cod, and Steven Warren and his companion Carmen Gillow of Laurens; three grandchildren, Samantha, James and Zoe; a brother, Earl Warren of Fayetteville, NY; a sister, Thelma Barlow of Lexington, KY; a sister-in-law, Arlene Warren of Florida and a brother-in-law, Don Ritz of Franklin, NY.
He was predeceased by a brother, Bruce Warren; a sister, Eileen Ritz; a sister-in-law, Alida Warren and two brother-in-laws, John Barlow and Robert Cleaveland.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 18, 2007 at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz Street, Oneonta.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, January 17, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be at 2 p.m., Friday, May 11, 2007 at the Croton-Union Cemetery in Treadwell.
