SCHENEVUS – Raymond James Dubben, 93, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at his daughter's home in Lititz, PA.
He was born May 14, 1921 in Schenevus, the son of Albert James and Susan I. (Richey) Dubben.
Raymond graduated from Andrew S. Draper Central School in Schenevus. He was a member of the Schenevus Valley Masonic Lodge, the Oneonta Elks Club, the C.H. Graham Hose Co., the Schenevus-Maryland Emergency Squad and was with the Fire Police.
He worked in the Feed business for many years, and retired from SUNY Oneonta as a Stationary Engineer.
Raymond is survived by three daughters, Trudy Simmons, Mary and Bill DeVeirno and Jane and Mark Kersmanc, and a son, James and Susie Dubben; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph Dubben; two sisters, Carolyn Whiteman and Alice Thomson; and several nieces and nephews; and also his companion for the past several years, Mary Lou Bellinger who will miss him deeply.
He was predeceased by his wife, Maria Dubben in 2001; a sister, Gladys Abramson in 2002; and a granddaughter, Denise Simmons in 1983.
Calling hours will be held 5 – 7 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2014 at the Heller Funeral Home, 25 Arch St., Schenevus.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014 at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Arch St., Schenevus, with the Rev. Richard Knudson officiating.
Interment will follow at the Schenevus Cemetery.
