Obituary

WORCESTER – Reta I. King, 83, passed away February 20, 2018 at Robinson Terrace in Stamford.

She was born February 3, 1935 in Geneva, the daughter of Harvey and Frances (Kenney) Lewis.

Reta married Claude King on May 16, 1953 in Newburgh. He predeceased her on May 10, 1995.

She was a bus driver for Wallkill Central School and was credited for saving three children's lives in an accident.

Reta volunteered at the Worcester Food Pantry. She was skilled with her hands, enjoying crafts, gardening, sewing and being a homemaker.  She took great pride in her yard and her home.

She is survived by her children, Deborah & James Morris of East Worcester, and Claude and Jillian King of New Mexico; grandchildren, Matthew and April King, Ed Fingerhut, Shawn, Kevin and Jennifer Morris; her sister, Sarah Detrich of Ft. Plain; many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Sharon King.

Visitation will be 4:00 to 5:00 PM, March 3, 2018 at the Heller & Skinner Funeral Home, 155 Main St., Worcester.

The interment at Maple Grove Cemetery, Worcester, will be at a later date.
