Milford - Richard L. "Pop" Garlick, 77, passed away October 20, 2024 at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, with his wife and children by his side.

He was born September 22, 1947 in Oneonta, the son of R. Leman and Lydia (Renwick) Garlick.

Dick grew up on Goodyear Lake. He graduated from Milford Central School and also SUNY Delhi.

He married Karen Tilley on September 22, 1973 in Mount Vision.

He retired from SUNY Oneonta, where he worked for over 30 years. He was a volunteer at the Milford Fire Department for 40 years, where he was given the nickname Pop Garlick.

Pop enjoyed square dancing, Bluegrass Festivals, and spending time with his family and friends

He is survived by his wife, Karen Garlick; children, Lydia Garlick and Lloyd (Angela) Garlick; and five grandchildren, Emily, Morgan, Isabella, Danielle, and Jacob Garlick.

He was predeceased by his parents and son, Dan Garlick.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 AM on Sunday, October 27 at the Milford Center Cemetery with the Reverend Jim Crouthamel officiating. A reception with a last call will be at 1 PM at the Milford Fire Department
