Oneonta – Richard L. Lindberg, 68, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2023 at Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown.

He was born July 8, 1955 in Oneonta, the son of David A. and Dorothy (Jacobs) Lindberg.

Richard graduated from Oneonta High School in 1972.

He married Judy Schaffer on July 7, 1979 in West Oneonta.

He worked at a variety of restaurants in the Oneonta area.  He was a member of the Moose Club, Eagles Club and Sons of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Lindberg; children, Angie (Robert) Lynch and Richard Jr. (Jessica) Lindberg; grandchildren, Ashlee (Amanda), Allison (Anthony), Kaitlynn, Skye, Landon, Hailie, Madison, Jordyn and Paisley; great-granddaughter, Avainna; siblings, Bonnie Marble, Betty Barnes, Esther Root, Debbie (Walt) Stretch, Doug Lindberg, Norma (Robert) Nellis, Susan (Ivan) Norton, Donald (Dody) Lindberg, and Frankie Lindberg; sister-in-law, Lillian; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; and siblings, Barbara, David, Iver, Anna and John.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, December 14 at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m., Friday, December 15 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Frank MacCracken officiating.  The interment will be at the Oneonta Plains Cemetery.
