UNADILLA _ Richard A. Perry, 52, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009, at home, with his family by his side.
He was born Dec. 17, 1956, in Oneonta, the son of Samuel and Pauline (McMullen) Perry.
Dick married Cindy Seeger in 1986 in Wells Bridge.
He was employed by the D&H Railroad for 10 years, helping lay the local tracks. He then bought the South Town Pub in South New Berlin, which he owned for several years.
Dick was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and was baptized the hour he died. He was an avid outdoorsman and wasn't just a Vikings fan, but was a Viking.
He was devoted to and lived for his family. He is survived by his wife, Cindy; their children, Nathan and wife, Jen, Jessica "Pichonelle," Michael and Joshua; a grandson, Thomas Yakalis; his brothers, Samuel Jr., Joseph, Tom and Tim; his sisters, Sally, Sarah and Linda; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and his faithful buddy, George.
He is predeceased by his parents, and a sister, Joan.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 634 St. Hwy. 205, Oneonta, with the Rev. Henry Edwards officiating.
