WESTFORD – Richard J. Stiehler, Sr., 75, passed away April 16, 2015 peacefully at home with his loving family after an illness with cancer.
He was born April 18, 1939 in Union City, NJ, the son of Alphonso and Hazel (Lennon) Stiehler.
He married Beverlye Frato on June 22, 1986 in West New York, NJ.
He was a United States Army veteran.
Rich was a Police Officer, retiring from West New York, NJ. He was a member of the PBA Local 88, now the 361 Local.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 28 years, Beverlye Stiehler; sons, Richard Stiehler, Jr. and wife, Ann, Stanley Stiehler, Frank Hults Jr. and wife, Crystal (Starr), John Hults and wife, Anita (Kaffaie); brother, Theodore Stiehler and wife, Pat; sister, Valerie Zmirak; mother-in-law, Beverlye Sogluizzo (Dragon); father-in-law, Thomas Frato and wife, Andrea; special cousin, Cindy Reveal; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Alphonso Stiehler and 3 brothers-in-law, Thomas Jr., Robert and Frank Sogluizzo.
A memorial service will be Noon, Saturday April 25, 2015 at St. Francis De Sailles, 125 Union St., Lodi, NJ.
The second service will be 11 a.m., Friday, May 1, 2015 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Main St., Worcester, NY.
